If you're not sure what you need to set up we have collated detailed information on the facepainting kits available at Facepaint UK. All are based on the Grimas stacking system that keeps your set up neat and tidy, and can be built upon if you find you fall in love with facepainting, as so many do. We are called, variously, facepainting addicts, tackle tarts and worse. Don't worry about that, just enjoy!
We have recently reorganised our kits, and reduced the prices somewhat :) All the kits are now around 10% less than buying the ingredients separately! We don't put rubbish brushes in our kits, proper brushes are important, and not cheap. All contain water-based paints suitable for painting on children. In general, we do not recommend that children under 3 years old have their faces painted, some products (Paradise) are labelled as not recommended for children under 36 months old and use on younger children could invalidate your insurance.
Our very basic kits are enough for you to paint at one or two events, with some left over for playing later, or for occasional use at home. Grimas paints are highly pigmented so you don't need a thick covering of paint to get fantastic bright colours and coverage. All of our kits include a spray bottle, you will get far superior results if you spray your sponges to dampen them. The unique Facepaint UK wedge sponges that we include are best used on the rounded side.
We endeavour to provide the bags/containers illustrated but may need to substitute an alternative from time to time.
This just has a 6 colour palette of 2.5ml of each colour, 6 sponges, a spray bottle, a mirror and 3 brushes in a useful presentation bag . It will do if you only want to do simple designs. Just £26.

This is the 6 colour palette of matt colours, and a 6 colour palette of the Pearlised colours, especially useful for pretty faces and on darker skin. Just 2.5ml per colour. If you're planning on getting into the fun and profit of facepainting, and need more than a simple starter kit, we've put together some compact kits to please anyone.
If you've already decided you're serious about facepainting, this is a good starting point. You will want to build on this selection, but it includes the popular colours that we use at our London School of Facepainting classes. Featuring 9 useful full size 15ml matt colours and 3 Pearlised colours, and a greater number of sponges (20). There are more Da Vinci Junior brushes (8) and a special brush to make flower petals, a spray bottle and mirror. It's enough to start you off in the rewarding world of professional painting. This one features all the Grimas 2.5ml taster colours, you can add to these as you discover your favourite colours, the larger Grimas 15ml size clip onto
the same trays when the smaller size is finished. This is the ideal way to develop as a face painter, your kit grows with you!
It is also the business as a second kit when space is limited and you are expected to set up on a handkerchief, or want to travel light.
We have found that white and black are the most used colours, so we have provided more of these. Diamond FX white is great for white that stays white
over other colours, and the black is the best for solid black linework. However we suggest you use the Grimas black provided near the eyes on young
children as the DFX black can be harder to remove, it needs plenty of soap, and soap stings the eyes!

You can replace any items with another colour if you want, just email us with your changes after you've placed your order, but you will need to replace one product with another of equivalent value! If you prefer round sponges we can exchange them, just let us know.
